Two champions, one pathway.

RL Karting runs on the same coaching that produced a Malaysian karting champion, a Formula 1 driver, and a professional touring car racer. Richard Lim and his son Aaron Lim lead it today.

1985/1986 Malaysian Karting Champion

Richard Lim is regarded as one of the most experienced karters in the country. He won Malaysia's national karting championship in 1985 and 1986, then spent decades mentoring the next generation of drivers.

"Arguably the most experienced karter in the country."

His coaching has developed drivers who went on to national and international championships, including Formula 1 driver Rio Haryanto and several GT and touring car competitors. Today he leads RL Karting's coaching program and race team out of Subang Jaya.

Aaron Lim

Former A1GP Driver & Honda Malaysia Touring Car Racer

Aaron Lim is Richard Lim's son and RL Karting's Team Manager. He followed his father onto the track, becoming a karting champion in his own right and setting a new lap record at the 2004 Asian Karting Championship in Macau, winning by a margin of over three seconds.

He carried that pace into professional motorsport: Formula BMW Asia in 2005, Formula Renault V6 Asia in 2007, a season representing Malaysia in A1GP, and a current seat racing touring cars for Honda Malaysia.

He now brings that professional race craft back into RL Karting's coaching and team management.

The pathway runs from kart track to grid.
